There is just too much at stake

Every business is affected by regulation or government insight. And yet most companies do not have a public affairs strategy or the relationships with government leaders who may impact your business.

Whether it is letting someone know how a certain policy affects your company or employees or you could use some funding emerging from the government. it is important that a company have access to their elected leaders and express their views when necessary and appropriate.

However, many companies lack the knowledge, resources and contacts so they should either rely on a trade association they are involved with or retain someone who is familiar in navigating the legislative and regulatory landscape.

Managing relationships is critical to a business. Companies should take advantage of the election cycle to start developing those relationships.
