March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. It is a time for us to understand and appreciate what it is like to live with a disability and how people living with a disability can participate in our community, what barriers stand in their way, and what prevents people with influence from removing those barriers.

As we prepare for a new year, we are happy to see our clients appear on reporters’ roundups of stories that made a difference this year and stories they will be watching for next year. Here is a conversation with The Wall Street Journal's Podcast with Amrith Ramkumar talking about LanzaTech. You can find this story about LanzaTech in Greenbiz on the circularity stories they will follow. Here are some other stories from the past few weeks, and we look forward to sharing more in 2023. Happy New Year!
Each year, I aim to share innovative news that reporters would include in their year-end summary of the innovators and trailblazers of the past year. There were two such stories last week about LanzaTech. Fermata Energy was also quoted in Bloomberg this past week, and the media continued to share past announcements from our clients over the past few weeks. Here are the other clips from this past week-
How LanzaTech turns greenhouse gases into ethanol, bottles and dresses, and other headlines
This week at North Coast Strategies, LanzaTech was also featured this week on CBS, ABC, and Marketwatch for being the only U.S. company named in HRH Prince William’s Earthshot Award. Although they did not win that award, they did win the prestigious Energy Globe Award. This week they also announced their latest installation in Belgium at an event that the Prime Minister of Belgium participated in with ArcelorMittal. Fermata Energy was featured in a podcast this week and in a great article in Green Car Reports. They also launched their new website this week and unveiled their new brand. We also joined representatives from Fermata Energy and LanzaTech, who spoke at the Energy Forum at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
Sole U.S. finalist for Earthshot Prize turns carbon pollution into everything from party dresses to jet fuel
HRH Prince William and Kate were in Boston this week to announce the winners of The Earthshot Prize, which LanzaTech was the only company from the US to be a finalist for. The event looked amazing, with coverage in People, NBC Boston, and Town & Country. Our client also appeared on the morning of the event on CBS National News and on Good Morning America. Fermata Energy also secured this great bylined article in Fleet Management Weekly about the value of V2X technology and EVs.
LanzaTech and Sumitomo Riko Partner to Create Substitute for Natural Rubber Production
We use products made with rubber every day. Not only is the process of creating rubber fossil-intensive, but so too is all that rubber waste. What if you could make new rubber products from old rubber products in a way that captures carbon emissions before they enter the atmosphere while keeping fossil carbon in the ground? LanzaTech and Sumitomo Riko Company Limited, today announced they have entered into a joint-development agreement to reuse rubber, resin, and urethane waste for the production of a key chemical intermediate, isoprene, which is the main component of natural rubber. Using synthetic biology for this new path to isoprene, LanzaTech’s nature-based platform has the potential to produce a new sustainable source of rubber through recycling, without losing any material integrity.
This week we worked with BASF and LanzaTech to update the community on BASFs efforts focused on sustainability. LanzaTech was also part of an announcement in Japan to make rubber from rubber and we announced a $3.5M investment in our client, North American Wave Engine Corporation (“Wave Engine Corp.”), a leading innovator in the development of next-gen high-performance propulsion systems and aerial vehicles.
Wave Engine Corporation Raises $3.5 Million in Latest Financing Round
From bidirectional charging making EVs a profit center to Craghoppers making fleeces from fiber made from carbon emissions, here is the news we helped to make this week
There are publications, both digital and print, that will publish stories from the news release itself while others want to talk to the people mentioned in the release itself. Others will publish your news if you successfully reach out to them to ensure your release is top of mind.
This week, we had great stories to share. From sharing the news about The Earthshot Prize with local media in Chicago with articles in the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Business Journal, and Chicago Crain’s, to seeing similar news in People, Vanity Fair, Town & Country, and edie.net.
Next week one of our clients, the Guild of Artists & Artisans is hosting their final art fair of the season and we received some coverage around that with TV appearances this weekend and next week.
LanzaJet continues to make the news with its work in sustainable aviation and Fermata Energy is making news as more people learn about its vehicle-to-grid technology. This includes a great podcast with Battery and Storage.
The Earthshot
I am excited to announce that our client LanzaTech, a carbon capture and transformation company, was named a finalist for the Earthshot Prize this morning by HRH Prince William and The Royal Foundation. As the only company in the United States, they are part of an amazing cohort of companies working on solving our world's greatest challenges around climate change.
The Prize takes inspiration from President John F. Kennedy’s ‘Moonshot,’ which united millions of people around an organizing goal to put a man on the moon and catalyzed the development of new technology in the 1960s.
As Prince William said in announcing the finalists,
“The innovators, leaders, and visionaries that make up our 2022 Earthshot Finalists prove there are many reasons to be optimistic about the future of our planet. They are directing their time, energy, and talent towards bold solutions with the power to not only solve our planet’s greatest environmental challenges, but to create healthier, more prosperous, and more sustainable communities for generations to come."
I am honored to help share the news on LanzaTech's behalf and join this impressive group in repairing and regenerating our world. With appearances this morning on The Today Show and Good Morning America, with articles in People, Town & Country, and Vanity Fair, today was an important day for our clients,
Congratulations to all the finalists.
For our other clients, we announced new leadership and were able to share additional stories on the launch of a new V2X charger. You can find links to all those stories below.
