Sole U.S. finalist for Earthshot Prize turns carbon pollution into everything from party dresses to jet fuel
HRH Prince William and Kate were in Boston this week to announce the winners of The Earthshot Prize, which LanzaTech was the only company from the US to be a finalist for. The event looked amazing, with coverage in People, NBC Boston, and Town & Country. Our client also appeared on the morning of the event on CBS National News and on Good Morning America. Woodside Energy (ASX: WDS) and LanzaTech NZ, Inc. (“LanzaTech”), a US-based carbon capture and transformation company, have announced a strategic collaboration with the signing of a Strategic Framework Agreement.

This week, Brookfield announced a USD 1B investment in LanzaTech with articles in Reuters, Climatewire, and BusinessGreen in the United Kingdom. We also announced a partnership between LanzaTech, Yale, Northwestern University, and NREL to establish a new center for multi-scale synthetic biology. We also helped launch the new FE-20 Bidirectional V2X Charger for Fermata Energy in New York City this week, changing how we think about charging infrastructure for EVS. This weekend also brings Artoberfest to Ann Arbor, Michigan. With the University of Michigan Wolverines away playing the University of Indiana, Saturday can become very lonely in Ann Arbor. The A2 Artoberfest, produced by the Guild of Artists and Artisans, brings people back into the streets of downtown Ann Arbor for craft beer and fine art. My year started with A $50 Million Dollar Investment By Microsoft and a $40 Million Investment by Carlyle and Verizon Ventures
This year we started with three major announcements from our clients. One was a $50M investment by Microsoft in LanzaJet to complete construction on their biorefinery in Georgia. The other was a $40M investment by Carlyle and Verizon Ventures in Fermata Energy. This is in addition to an announcement Fermata Energy made with Electric Frog and National Grid on the success of their vehicle-to-grid project in Rhode Island.
